Academic units across West Virginia University are committed to collaborating productively to support and provide resources to students who have vision for new products or businesses. In this session, attendees will hear from students in a number of majors and colleges at WVU, including Business and Economics, Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, and Agri-business. These young people truly embody the entrepreneurial mindset and innovative spirit we want to foster in all our students, on campus and beyond. Working in teams, they’ve come up with some exciting things to share. You’ll also hear how the WVU LaunchLab, the College of B & E, the College of Creative Arts and the Reed College of Media work together to ensure the success of these teams. The panel will be facilitated by Steve Cutright of the Brickstreet Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship in the College of Business and Economics, and by Carrie White, the Director of the WVU LaunchLab.
Matt Brumley is a graduate student in the MBA/MS Finance Dual Degree Program in the WVU College of Business and Economics. After graduating from the Chemical Engineering Department at WVU, Matt worked for a few years as an engineer, software developer, and small business owner. He decided to return to school in the summer of 2015. Matt has worked on several projects through the Brickstreet Center for Innovation. He also participated in the 2016 Big XII Business Case Competition in Oklahoma and was recognized in that contest as Best Presenter.
