It is my pleasure to invite you to West Virginia University’s Roads Scholar Academy in Naples, Florida.
President Gordon Gee and I are excited to share how West Virginia University is leading transformation across our state, our region and our world. As Mountaineers go first, you’ll have the opportunity to learn about the steps that are being taken to combat the opioid epidemic in the state, how music therapy can benefit in patient recovery, and from the team of WVU engineers who discovered the high emissions of Volkswagen vehicles that shocked the world. Also, you’ll hear directly from our students—the next generation of exceptional entrepreneurs and innovators-on their experiences collaborating with others to bring their visions to reality.
The day of presentations and inspiring discussion will culminate in a cocktail reception and dinner, at which alumni, friends, and institutional leaders can mingle with the featured Roads Scholar Academy speakers and panelists. In addition to the educational highlights, the Roads Scholar Academy provides you with the opportunity to spend time with classmates and friends who, like you, have a personal connection to this great University.
I hope you come and celebrate this future by joining fellow Mountaineers in this day-long showcase of some of our brightest stars and finest work.
I look forward to seeing you in Naples.
Sincerely,
Cynthia L. Roth
